Suter Group presents research at ASCB Meeting in San Francisco
12-13-2016
Haley Roeder, a graduate student in the lab of Daniel Suter, was invited to give a short talk about her research at the annual meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) in San Francisco, December 3-7, 2016. She presented her findings that growth and guidance responses of cultured zebrafish retinal ganglion cell neurons depend on reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced by NADPH oxidases. At the same conference, Daniel Suter organized a Special Interest Subgroup Meeting "Emerging Roles of ROS-Related Redox Signaling in Cell Biology" and gave a talk on ROS signaling in neuronal development. Ahmad Athamneh, a Postdoctoral Associate in the Suter Lab, gave an invited talk about his work on mechanosensing of neuronal growth cones in another Subgroup Session "Neuronal Cell Biology: Cytoskeleton and Trafficking".
