Carly Marshall, a senior from Carmel, Indiana, is Purdue's first finalist for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Marshall is a biology major studying neurobiology and physiology with a minor in psychology. She is the senior class representative of Purdue's women's varsity swimming and diving team. She also is a co-leader and founding member of the Athletic Outreach Committee for Purdue Dance Marathon, which raises funds for Riley Children's Hospital. The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is awarded to outstanding students from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. Students must possess outstanding intellectual ability, have leadership potential, and have demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of others. A publication-quality photograph of Marshall is available at https://news.uns.purdue.edu/images/2015/marshall-carly15.jpg
