At the Fall 2009 Biological Sciences Alumni Advisory Committee

The theme for the Fall 2009 Biological Sciences Alumni Advisory Committee meeting was "New Face of Biological Sciences at Purdue". With presentations made by Dean Jeffrey Roberts, Frederick L. Hovde Dean of Science, Dr. Richard Buckius, VP for Research and Professor Peter Hollenbeck, Associate Head of the Biological Sciences, the committee learned first-hand the efforts being made to enhance the educational experience for our Biological Science students. Key topics discussed with the committee were the College of Science Strategic Plan, the newly approved Biological Sciences Departmental 2009 – 2014 Strategic Plan, undergraduate curriculum changes in the areas of chemistry and physics, Purdue's vision for research, and a potential "Professional Science Masters Program".
